You are encouraged to arrive 20-30 minutes prior to the scheduled rental of the geocache pack in order to fill out the proper paperwork and receive instruction on the use of a Global Positioning System (GPS).   

 

Parking is available at the Village at Sunriver at no cost.  Our caches are hidden along the bike paths.

Central Oregon Adventures (COA) has hidden approximately 15-20 cache containers around the Sunriver Resort community.  A few caches are located in areas accessible by vehicles.  However, the majority are hidden along the 30+ miles of bike and walking paths.  Our goal was to provide a scenic Sunriver experience while enjoying outdoor exercise and learning the sport of geocaching. 

During spring, summer and fall, the best way to get to the majority of our caches is using a bicycle.  If you do not have your own bikes, we encourage you to rent from one of several rental merchants located in the Village at Sunriver.  If you geocache during the winter and it is snowing, you may want to use snow shoes or cross country skis.  These too can be rented from a local merchant.

If you are geocaching during the winter and it is snowing, dress for a day on the snow, including a water resistant/water proof coat, pant, boots, and gloves. 

During other seasons, you should be prepared for the ever changing Central Oregon weather conditions.  We suggest that you dress in layers.  Mornings and evenings can be very cool and afternoons can warm up quickly. 

As with any outdoor activity, consumption of water is encouraged.  We do not sell bottled water, but you can purchase this and other snacks at the Country Store in the Village. 

Boxed lunches are available from several restaurants in the Village. 

In order to confirm a reservation, we take a full price deposit. If you cancel or change the reservation 48 hours prior to the trip date, the deposit will be refunded. Any cancellations or changes to the reservations in any way within 48 hours of the rental date, the deposit will be forfeited.

A security deposit is required for each geocache pack.  This deposit is held on a major credit card, which means no charges will be seen on your card unless the GPS unit is damaged or not returned.
